How Do I Find The Right Coach For Me?

All coaches are not created equal. We probably need 20+ different vocabulary words for what is being called "coaching" these days. Here are six savvy questions to help you narrow the field and choose the right match for you:

  1. What is your professional training and certification, specifically in coaching? (Describe highlights of the coaching model, skills you use. What did you actually go through to be certified?)

  2. How long have you been coaching?… How many one-on-one coaching clients? (And/or groups, if that’s important for your needs.)

  3. What was your background before coaching, how long?

  4. Why did you become a coach?

  5. How have you done your own personal and professional development work, including wisdom gained from significant life experiences? How do you continue to grow and walk the talk?

  6. What is your ideal client profile and coaching focus areas that bring out the best in your coaching? (What/who do you not love so much or don’t feel super- qualified to coach?)

A live sample session/initial consultation will give you a sense of chemistry and "fit."

Of course you want to include your inner gut wisdom in this process.

Let me climb.

Fear and dream must collide.
