What we inherited about how to be happy or a successful person or a good leader has become a myth, not sustainable, not the lasting truth. So what is? Our Wake Up Call

Now more than ever, we need inspired, conscious leadership and engaged contributors. What our world needs now is LOVE; Leaders for Our Vital Evolution. When asked, where are the leaders like JFK, Martin Luther King, or Gandhi of our day, Marianne Williamson has said, “We all need to be looking to better angels of our own selves right now. We don’t need to be looking for great people, so much as becoming great people.”

If this feels daunting, please exhale and relax. A part of you may want to raise an eyebrow and say, “Hey, Baker- I can’t keep up with my email or hair roots, and you want me to be the change like Gandhi?” We can clink glasses and laugh together on that note. You may want to get a grip on creating a more rewarding life and career, not save the planet by next week. Rest assured that all of this change begins with more calm from the inside out, not more pushing, pressure and working harder. I also promise to call you forth, light fire under your bum as needed in service to your growth.

And, the secret is (a part of you already knows) that real joy comes not from indulging “our small self pleasures, desires and comforts,” but from transcending the hobgoblins of our little minds and unleashing energy within you that wants to be contributing to something greater, fueled by deeper inspiration and higher goals. Being your True, Great Self takes vitality, heart and courage. This requires smart self care and recharging your own spirit. A blend of patience and perseverance, compassion and conquest, paradoxically- smart self love and getting over yourself.

Underneath a lot of noise out there lies our real crisis and opportunity. We have a poverty of inspiration. If you’re tempted to dismiss this as warm fuzzy, think again. Lack of inspiration is expensive. It’s a threat to our personal, business, socio-economic and global health. The good news: We have an amazing opportunity to reclaim how we define success and revolutionize how we co-create it. As more of us support each other to create harmony and true alignment within ourselves, we will fuel harmony and true success among teams, companies, communities and nations. As we reignite Passion and awaken Higher Purpose to integrate with Profit in business, we will finally create real Prosperity for a world that works for all. It’s time for us to wake up, become who we are meant to be and do what we are here to do.
